John Calhoun"Mother Nature's Son" from Alabama and Mark Bailey"Captain America" from Florida our thru-hikers who just
completed the Newfoundland section of the IAT were in Tide Head, New Brunswick, last night( July 27).
They will bus to Cap Gaspe today where they will start the Quebec portion of the IAT, hoping to be back here about the end of August when they will start the New Brunswick section from Tide Head to Mt Katahdin. They hope to join us at our IAT/SIA, AGM in Millinocket,Maine on Sept. 11 to 13th. Very interestisng people - only got a small portion of
their story - hope to get it in detail when we meet again.
Calhoun has hikedthe Appalachien Trail in 2001, the Pacific Crest Trail in 03, the Colorado Trail in 04 the Yukon River trail in 07, and the Continental Divide Trail in 08 and now the both
of them are on ours.
In a message from John on the 29th he states that they stayed in the Hostel at Cap Aux Os and were heading south from Cap Gaspe in the morning of the 30th. They plan to be back in Tide Head, New Brunswick by August 30.
