International Appalachian Trail
George Neavoll Going Away Party
A great time was had by all at the going-away party we held for long-time supported of the IAT/SIA George Neavoll and his wife Joanne.

In the early years of the IAT/SIA George served as the Editor of the Editorial page of the Maine Sunday Telegram and the Portland Press Herald. He wrote many editorials and op-ed pieces in support of the trail. He was there when we put up the first blaze, he traveled to Gaspé to attend our International Board meeting and visited sites along the trail and he joined us on our first visit to Newfoundland in 2003. He was a great supporter and we all really appreciate all he did for our cause.

He and his wife are moving to Portland, Oregon, George's hometown.

Board members Don Hudson, Will Richard, and Tom Rumpf attended the event. The Maine Chapter IAT/SIA presented George with a gift that was designed by our official photographer, Will Richard. The gift included Will's photographs of George at several trail events.

Long-time supporter Eddie Woodin hosted the event at the headquarters of the Maine Audubon Society in Falmouth, Maine.
