IAT/SIA Maine Chapter receives grant from the Quimby Family Foundation
The Maine Chapter of the International Appalachian Trail has been chosen to receive a Quimby Family Foundation Grant. After reading the applications and meeting with several of the organizations, the Quimby Family Foundation decided that the IAT/SIA stood out as being most closely aligned with the mission of the Foundation and its funding goals.

This grant and $1000 from our funds, will fund the MCC crew to build the section of the IAT/SIA from the Deasey Fire Lookout Trail south to Wassataquoik Stream. Earl Raymond and crew will be working with the MCC people to do the scouting and keep this project organized.

Chapter Treasurer, Bob LeMieux; Chapter President, Dick Anderson; Chapter Secretary, Don Hudson, and Maine Chapter Board Member, Earl Raymond attended a grantee luncheon hosted by the Quimby Family Foundation at the Haraseeket Inn in Freeport where the grant was presented. The Quimby Foundation thanked the IAT/SIA for all the wonderful work and presented the wished continued success in the year to come.
