Dick Anderson, Earl Raymond, Walter Anderson, & John Whittier(Soil Scientist) traveled to Wassataquoik on June 11th, to stake out lean-to site and privy near the intersection of Katahdin and Wassataquoik streams
The group also posted the first blazes for IAT/SIA East of Baxter.
On 6/17 & 6/18 the Blaze Brigade (Earl Raymond, Dick Anderson, Dave Rand, Herb Hartman, Walt Anderson) headed east of Baxter on East Branch. They met up later at Shin Pond with Bart Dewolf, Eric Horschak and interns.
During their trip, they encountered an unusual number of Turkey Vultures in area. Dick says that there probably is a moose carcass nearby. There were nearly 15 in area. Locals say there are an unusual number of Turkey Vultures in area. Also pictured is Dick with some moose scat!
