The International Annual General meeting was held September 11-13 at Twin Pine Camps on Millinocket Lake, Maine, with its spectacular views of Kataadin. All IAT/SIA chapters were represented.
Thursday evening everyone enjoyed a barbeque on the shore. John Calhoun, Mother Natures Son, spoke about his recent hike and was presented a new pair of hiking boots donated by LL Bean. Another thru-hiker, Cotton Joe, spoke briefly.
Chapter presentations were delivered after breakfast on Friday. Many exciting trail developments, marketing opportunities, and future plans were shared.
Following dinner on Friday, Jensen Bissell, Supervisor of Baxter State Park and Matt Polstein, owner of the New England Outdoor Center spoke.
Saturday at the 1st annual “Trails End Festival” in Millinocket the IAT/SIA had an exhibit table and Dick Anderson gave a presentation on the history of the trail
The next AGM meeting will be held October, 29, 30, & 31, 2009. Details will be determined.
